Chair walkers are excellent devices for helping
elderly or others to get around and sit down when they need to.
These chair walkers have been created to aid elderly and disabled
people move independently across a floor or outside. These walkers
include a standing frame, which feature a front rail, opposite
sides and a back supporting a seat that is in the mid-level range
so that a person can use the walker as a chair as well.
In order to allow people to sit comfortably in these chair walkers,
an open space is provided so that the person has some leg room
as they sit. Most chair walkers also include rollers on them.
When sitting, a person behind the chair walkers can actually
push the sitting person along, like in a wheelchair. Or, if the
person who is sitting wants to stay stationary, he or she can
do that as well. It is important, however, that the user remembers
to lock the wheels into place before he or she sits if they do
not want to move anywhere.
When standing and using these chair walkers, there is also a
method of locking the wheels into place if you are in an area
where you want to stop and talk for a minute or two. All the user
needs to do is simply use the hand brake and he or she will be
able to stop.
When they are ready to get rolling (literally and figuratively)
again, all they need to do is release the brake on their chair
walkers and get going.
Chair walkers were created to fill a need among those who were
finding that it would be nice to have a seat at all times.
