The American Academy of Pediatrics reports that 14,000 kids are sent to the hospital due to walker-related injuries, and 34 have died since 1973. Even though there are many protests to have them banned, walkers still remain one of the most popular methods of keeping a child entertained. Since this is the case, the best baby walker is the one with the most safety features.

• Wide base to prevent the child from passing through doorways
• Lifts to elevate the wheels off the ground, preventing further movement.
• Locking mechanisms in case one wheel leaves the ground
• Padded seat to ensure a child’s comfort

Activity centers with a grounded leg are the best type of baby walker for a child. Restricting a child’s movement is the best way to keep a child safe and out of trouble, and walkers with a grounded leg, or exersaucers, only enable the little one to scoot around in circles.
