They have also widened the design so that it will no longer fit through doorways and stairwells. Lastly, they have installed braking systems which cause the devices wheels to lock up if one of them crosses a rough or uneven surface.

Graco’s walker similarly has a wide array of toys built on to the walker itself to keep the child busy. The idea being that if you can keep the child busy at the walker itself it will be less likely to wander into danger or attempt to grab objects off shelves above it. Both the Chicco and Graco designs incorporate all the aforementioned safety features as mandated by the federal government and both companies strive to continue improving their designs.
In truth, modern babywalkers are really quite safe and should not necessarily be blacklisted from your home.
